It is important to monitor your posture throughout care to see how your posture and spine are changing so that you can be in better alignment and have less spinal stress to increase your overall function.
Good Posture=Better Function
When the spine is better alignment it decreases the tension on your muscles allowing your body to have less muscle pain and be more relaxed and stabile. The interesting part is we can all see our teeth, face and front side of our body but we never see the back side of our body, often leading to spinal problems going undetected.
Areas of Posture Assessment
The main areas we check for posture are head, neck and hips. When we look at the head and neck we are looking to see if the ears are over the shoulder and looking to see if the head is tilted to either the right or left which may indicate misalignments in the spine.
